What PrämienCheck compares

PrämienCheck is an information service provided by OneDoc SA. It displays premiums for mandatory health care insurance (Swiss basic insurance under the KVG/LAMal) approved and published by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

The results are based on official FOPH data and, depending on the criteria selected, take into account in particular the municipality of residence and applicable premium region, age group, deductible, insurance model and, where relevant, accident coverage.

The comparison covers the insurers, premiums and models contained in the FOPH source file that are applicable to the selected criteria. It covers basic insurance only and does not cover supplementary insurance.

The insurance year covered by the results and the date of the most recent synchronization with the FOPH data are stated on our Data page.

PrämienCheck is free and requires no account or registration. It is not an official website of the Swiss Confederation or the FOPH.

Independence and funding

No health insurer pays OneDoc to be included in the comparison, to obtain a particular placement or ranking, or for a click, referred contact, insurance application or concluded policy.

The results are not sponsored and no health insurer can pay to improve its position in the ranking.

How PrämienCheck is funded

Ranking and “Lowest premium”

When results are sorted by price, the ranking is based solely on the premium displayed for the selected criteria.

“Lowest premium” means the lowest monthly premium among the results matching those criteria in the FOPH data used by PrämienCheck. It does not mean that the insurer or model concerned is the best overall, the least expensive in every situation or the most suitable for your needs.

The ranking does not take into account, in particular, service quality, the terms or restrictions of an insurance model, your total healthcare costs or the suitability of the model for your personal circumstances.

Individual premium reductions, subsidies or other forms of assistance are not deducted from the premiums displayed unless expressly stated otherwise.

Accuracy and currency of the data

The premiums displayed come from the official FOPH files in the version available at the time of our most recent synchronization.

We perform checks when importing and processing the data. Despite these checks, errors, omissions, update delays or processing discrepancies may occur. Data published by the FOPH may also be corrected or updated after our synchronization.

OneDoc therefore does not guarantee that information displayed by PrämienCheck will at all times be error-free, complete or up to date.

Information displayed by PrämienCheck is provided for information purposes only and does not constitute an insurance offer. Before changing insurer, model or deductible, check the official FOPH data as well as the current information and terms provided by the insurer concerned.

Where the figures come from

No personal advice

PrämienCheck compares insurance premiums and insurance parameters. It does not provide insurance, financial or medical advice or a personal recommendation.

Rankings, the “Lowest premium” label and information about deductibles or insurance models describe the data corresponding to the criteria you selected. They do not constitute an assessment of your personal circumstances.

The choice of insurer, insurance model and deductible is yours. Relevant considerations may include your needs, your preferred way of accessing healthcare, your expected use of healthcare services, your ability to bear cost sharing and your budget.

Insurers’ websites and offers

The “View offer” button and other external links may take you to the website of a health insurer, the FOPH or another third party.

OneDoc does not transmit to a health insurer through these links your search criteria, personal data relating to you, a OneDoc identifier or information identifying the PrämienCheck page from which you came.

When you open a third-party website, your browser connects directly to that website. Its operator may then process technical data required for that connection, including your IP address, in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy.

Third-party websites are the responsibility of their respective operators. OneDoc does not control their content, availability, prices, terms or data-protection practices. A link may become outdated or lead to a different page from the one expected.

No health insurer pays OneDoc for these clicks or redirects.

Liability

PrämienCheck is provided “as is” and subject to availability. OneDoc does not guarantee that the service will always be available without interruption or free from technical errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, OneDoc excludes liability for loss or damage arising in particular from:

• errors, omissions or incomplete or outdated information in the source data;
• a processing error or delayed update where there has been no gross negligence;
• an interruption, unavailability or technical malfunction of the service;
• use of a third-party website or service;
• a decision made solely on the basis of information displayed by PrämienCheck.

This exclusion does not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence by OneDoc and does not limit any liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

FOPH data and OneDoc rights

Premium data comes from the FOPH and remains subject to the terms of use applicable to the relevant dataset. It may be reused in accordance with those terms, including compliance with any applicable source-attribution requirements.

PrämienCheck identifies the FOPH as the source of the data.

Elements created by OneDoc, including its original text, software, graphical elements, presentation, logos and other PrämienCheck-specific content, remain protected to the extent provided by applicable law.

You may quote our pages or link to them. You may also reuse their content, including any Markdown version made available by OneDoc, provided that OneDoc and, for premium data, the FOPH are clearly identified as sources.

Automated or large-scale reproduction of OneDoc-specific elements for integration into another service requires OneDoc’s prior consent, subject to statutory quotation, reuse and other rights. This restriction does not limit the reuse rights applicable to raw FOPH data.

Your data and cookies

PrämienCheck does not require an account and the comparison application does not store your search data in a OneDoc database.

Your language and some of your most recent search choices may be stored locally in your browser so they can be restored on a later visit.

The comparison service does not itself set or use cookies for advertising or audience-analytics purposes. However, if you have previously used another OneDoc service, your browser may automatically send to praemiencheck.onedoc.ch certain cookies that were set for the .onedoc.ch domain, including Google Analytics cookies. The PrämienCheck code does not use those cookies to analyse your use of the comparison service, rank results or personalise results. They are also not used to determine the cache entry for a result.

As with any internet service, your IP address is temporarily processed by the network infrastructure required to route your request, including our content delivery network and origin server. PrämienCheck does not retain that IP address in its request logs.

Successful requests are not retained in an access log for the comparison service. If a request fails, a local technical error log may retain limited information needed for troubleshooting: the request method, host name, requested URL including any query parameters, status code and request duration. These error logs do not contain the IP address, cookies or request headers and are automatically rotated.

Changes, governing law and contact

OneDoc may develop PrämienCheck further and amend these Terms of Use. An amendment applies to use of the service from the time the new version is published. The version published on this page, together with its last-modified date, is the version currently in force.

These Terms of Use are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory provisions that may apply.

If the language versions differ, the French version prevails to the extent permitted by applicable law.
